The Centre on Saturday appointed Ravi Agrawal as the brand new chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the highest policy-making physique of the Earnings Tax Division.
As per the notification issued by the Personnel Ministry, Mr. Agrawal, a 1988 batch Earnings tax cadre Indian Income Service (IRS) officer, has been appointed because the Chairman from July 1 until his superannuation on September 30 and subsequently on contract foundation until June 30, 2025.
Successfully, he’ll stay the chairman of the physique for one 12 months. He succeeded Nitin Gupta; whose prolonged tenure is ending on Sunday.
